Yes, went missing for long periods tonight but still showed what a good player he can be with a couple of cameo's like the pass to Shultz in the goal square during the 3rd quarter. He's a very young player still developing some experience so we won't see the best of him till he has 50 games or so under his belt. The more games he gets now the sooner he will develop and hopefully impact more games for longer periods than he is currently doing.

Let’s not expect too much to quickly from these young inexperienced players.
He’s tracking really nicely and I don’t see many flaws in his game other than just needing more game time to understand and learn his role better. That will come.

Wasn't a great night for him, but he's only played 10 games in his career so you're going to have expect inconsistency at this stage of his development.

He kicked a lovely 40-50m pass to Schultz (who kicked a point I think) and has footy awareness. He’ll grow.

HH has genuine potential. Remember ..he arrived with Draper and Ramsay (??) with Dekks’s imprimatur …” dual sided, quick “ etc suggesting future midfield potential at a time when we had 2 Browns and Caleb Poulter .
Now HH is the sole survivor .

Three things that stuck out with him
- he often was mentioned at VFL both as a regular goal kicker in matches and as being injured !
- compared to all of the others ( with the exception of Callum Brown who definitely built up) HH did seem to evolve each year looking bigger and slightly more powerful
- generally most team mates are conservative in their comments but I recall Lipinski ( who might eventually be vying for a spot with HH) being interviewed post game and expressing considerable enthusiasm about the young bloke’s potential after his first game
Most youngsters evolve gradually and we must expect that HH will develop that way , but some of his work has been sharp, crisp and precise , both at the delivery and receipt ends . He is work in progress. Promising .
The Good , The Bad and the Ultra Ugly ….as long as they hold their marks, kick straight and never stop trying-the Magpie Selectors need to give them consideration .

He is a very smart footballer. He'll be fine, and will enjoy being back at the MCG this week. I expect him to have a good game. He's definitely a keeper.

IF Mcstay's recovery period is any guide, triple H will be available around 1 June 2025.
McStay played his first competitive game of football in 295 days, when he ran out for Collingwood's VFL side.

I was really liking what we were seeing from the young HH before his injury. I'll be looking forward to seeing him come back.

Also, I was told that he received a request about swapping numbers as one of the new guys would like #36 if available.
